On the occasion of Milan’s Women Fashion Week, the programme dedicated to visual arts restarts with the exhibition of the American artist Talia Chetrit. From 18 September, the Gallery opens to the public with the most comprehensive exhibition to date showcasing the work of Chetrit.   The show for 10 Corso Como, curated by Alessandro Rabottini and Anna Castelli, brings together works from 1994 to 2023, creating a dialogue between images that encapsulate different moments in both her artistic career and her private life. Self-portraits, family scenes, still lifes, street photography; no subject is excluded from Chetrit’s critical investigation into the current validity of the various genres of photography. These images instill a candid feeling of fragility and a confrontational sense of breaking taboos , with a specific focus on the themes of sexuality, relationships and female self-representation.   Through her straightforward yet nuanced use of the camera, Chetrit produces images that are at once elaborately conceived, lyrical, and provocative. Fusing emotional intensity with a specific approach to composition, her pictures can be understood as an exercise in what it means to look and what it feels like to pose; an exploration of the formal implications of the act of framing and the psychological dynamics of becoming the subject of an image.   After the solo show dedicated to Roe Ethridge last February, this exhibition continues a reflection on how the languages of art and photography, in dialogue with fashion, allow us to observe the contradictions of our times, questioning what beauty, the seductions of commerce and the rules of representation are.

For the first time in Italy, a special exhibition project of the emblematic designer.In the new chapter of 10 Corso Como, according to Tiziana Fausti’s vision, the Gallery exhibition space continues its programming dedicated to fashion culture with a special project of the designer who provoked and inspired a distinctive aesthetics and imagery: Yohji Yamamoto.Organized by 10 Corso Como and Yohji Yamamoto, the project curated by Alessio de′ Navasques gathers a dialogue between iconic pieces from the runway, recent and future collections, in an ascending and immersive climax.   From May 16 to July 30, 2024, in the spaces of the Gallery, garments will be the protagonists in a flow where every shape, cut and geometry transmits an idea of the future and beyond time.   From Saturday, June 15th, the catalogue of the Yohji Yamamoto. The project in collaboration with Central Saint Martins. Started in March 2024, the initiative involved forty fashion designers from the exclusive MA Fashion course who, after exploring the identity and iconic pattern of 10 Corso Como, proposed their winning accessory ideas.   The winner Petra Fagerstrom (Sweden, 1998) was selected from a shortlist of six finalists by Tiziana Fausti and Gianluca Borghi, President and CEO of 10 Corso Como, respectively, along with a guest jury of international experts in the field of fashion - Alexander Fury, British journalist, author and fashion critic, Serena Tibaldi, fashion editor for the Italian daily newspaper La Repubblica, Jordan Bowen and Luca Marcheto, founders of the Jordanluca brand.   The bag designed by Petra Fagerstrom is inspired by the 10 Corso Como pattern and uses eyelets and rivets to embellish an expandable textile. A daily bag as well as a travel item that can be adapted to accommodate different situations.   The next steps will be to focus on the development and production of the collection which will then be available in 10 Corso Como’s network. The new talent will also be offered the opportunity to sign a contract to design the new 10 Corso Como Signature Collection.

For the 2024 edition, 10 Corso Como is partner of Piano City Milano, a project promoted and conceived by the Piano City Milano Association together with the City of Milan. The renowned diffuse festival brings music to the city from 17 to 19 May.   The 10 Corso Como Café, an oasis surrounded by a lush garden in the heart of the iconic concept store, is going to welcome the public with a special set-up, providing an occasion for cheerfulness and leisure.   A piano will be at the disposal of all those who wish to try their hand at music for an exceptional experience.
