Roger Vivier, born in Paris in 1907, is known as the "Faberger of shoes" for his ability to turn every design into a work of art. After studying sculpture at the Ecole des Beaux Arts, he abandoned his studies to become an apprentice shoemaker. His encounters with theater stars such as Mistinguett and Joséphine Baker marked the beginning of his career in creating bespoke shoes. In 1937, he opened his first boutique in Paris, achieving great success with his innovative heels, such as the "Aiguille" stiletto in 1954 and the "Virgule" heel in 1963, which became the iconic symbol of his Maison. A refined craftsman, Vivier combined elegance and expertise to elevate the shoe to a true work of art.
